Using the 'Locations' Filter

The 'Locations' filter is designed to provide you with maximum flexibility. Utilizing the filter involves four simple steps:

  1. Open the search query where you want to add or modify the location filter.

  2. Enter a city, postal code, or province in the Netherlands.

  3. You can add as many locations as you wish.

For instance, if you're looking for a candidate in the 'Randstad' region, you can add multiple cities. We will display all candidates within the search range for each city you've added in the 'location field'.

  4. Expand or narrow the distance/range by sliding the 'Distance' filter to the right or left. This filter appears once you've filled in at least one location.

Excluding Locations You can also exclude specific locations. After adding a location, click on the three dots and select 'exclude'.

Please note that we will exclude every candidate within the distance/range you have specified, so this feature is only useful in exceptional cases.

FAQ

When I set the radius to 1 kilometer, I get (almost) no results. Why is that?

When you enter a location, a central point is selected within that location. This means it’s not about the entire city, but rather a central point within it. When you specify a radius of 1 kilometer, we will search within that 1-kilometer radius. We recommend always entering a larger radius to find more candidates!

I see candidates who are not based in the Netherlands.

For job sites like LinkedIn and Indeed, we have a program that filters out CVs with locations outside the Netherlands. However, for other job sites, we currently do not have this capability, as they should only display CVs with locations within the Netherlands. We’ve noticed that this is not always the case, which is why you may see CVs with locations outside the Netherlands. We are exploring options to rectify this!

I later find out that a candidate does not live within my specified search radius.

As previously explained, we use a central point within the specified location in Robin. This also applies when candidates list a large geographical area as their location on their CV.

For example, when candidates specify the Netherlands as their location, we select a central point in the Netherlands. This serves as the basis for determining the location. As a result, it may happen that a candidate appears in your search results while actually being outside the specified radius.
